June 7th…………“DID YOUR DAD EVER ASK YOU TO SOMETHING ON YOUR FARM THAT MADE HIM LAUGH WHEN YOU DID IT”???

POEM – “Oh How He Loved To Laugh” created by N. Elliott Noorlun
That dad of mine, Could be a stinker,
And oh how he loved to laugh!!!
Just like the time, In a muddy Spring,
When there came a newborn calf.

Newly born, it was, On spindly legs,
As it walked with wobbly sway.
Dad told me to walk behind it,
To lift the tail and say,

“Is it single barrel or two”? I heard his ask,
What beneath the tail I saw.
But what the heck, As I strained my neck,
“Just what’d you mean by that, Pa”???

Dad howled with laughter, From farmer knowledge,
As he stood there at the barn door.
His life learnt wisdom, Had me baffled,
And that made him laugh all the more!!!

Or then was the time, At our dinner table,
Our girl cousins were about to dine.
All prim and proper, Those preteen dears,
Most ladylike and fine.

Dad saw his chance, To have some fun,
Right near their bowl of soup.
He snuck a brown plastic, Kinda toy,
That resembled a pile of poop!!

They screeched and howled, Those girls all aghast,
So grossed out by their uncle’s gaff.
But t’was Daddy’s joy, Silly Norwegian boy,
It all just embellished his laugh!!!
