When Mrs. Baker said,

“Bring out your book”,

I’d tell her, “Yes Ma’am, dear teacher”,

“I’ll try to look”!!

But mashed inside,

This desk of steel,

T’was a mangle of fun,

As I’d dig n feel.

While others had turned,

To Page 53,

I was still in there a-diggin’,

Experiencing glee!

For it’s not the destination,

Far as I’m concerned.

T’was the mostest FUN “badge”,

I had just earned!!! 😉
