March 9th……..“DID YOU EVER HAVE A CHOKING EXPERIENCE AS A LITTLE BOY ON YOUR FAMILY FARM NEAR KIESTER, MINNESOTA”?
POEM – “Boyhood Butterscotch Button Battle” by N. Elliott Noorlun

What a beautiful morning, On the farm that day,
My buddy “Jack” and I, Were headin’ out to play.

This “player” needed energy, Let’s see, some tasty treat,
So some butterscotch buttons, came along, For this little guy to eat.

I was walking on sunshine, Feeling mighty grand,
As I popped a butterscotch button, I had lingering in my hand.

Just then, a “battle” happened, As if my throat had gone to “war”,
That butterscotch button had jumped on down, My throat and made it sore!

I was all alone, in the great outdoors, No rescuer in sight,
That button was STUCK, just my darn luck, I now was suffering fright!

My air was cut off, and dizzy, too, I’d better do something quick,
Just another few minutes, I’d be a goner, And way beyond just sick.

I gave one massive swallow, And felt that “rock” go down,
And as I shook, in my boots right there, I was shaking with a frown.

So glad was I, that I’d been spared, To live another day,
And even now, I’m glad, and HOW, To enjoy life in every way!!!
