December 10th…“MUSING UPON THE PAST, WHAT IMPRESSED YOU ABOUT YOUR PARENT’S WAY OF DOING BUSINESS IN YOUR HOMETOWN OF KIESTER, MINNESOTA?”
POEM – “A Good Man’s Word” (speaking of our father, Russell Conrad Noorlun. And our dear mother, Clarice, too, of course.) by N. Elliott Noorlun
Oh for the days, When a good man’s word,
Was the only thing, That need be heard.
When honesty, Was the path he’d trek,
Twas only his name, On his good check.
No need for ton, Of information,
That’s common now, In our sad nation.
Back then, There in our quaint small town,
The way you lived, Became your crown.
Banker, Grocer, Hardware man,
Could trust you that, You had a plan,
To carry out, Just what you’d say,
For that was the honest, Farmer’s way!
