November 19th…“DO YOU THINK YOU WOULD’VE FOLLOWED IN YOUR FATHER’S PROFESSION OF FARMING, IF YOU HAD STAYED IN MINNESOTA?”

POEM – “I Should Have” by N. Elliott Noorlun
I should have followed my father,
In choice of life career,
Of tilling the soil, in farmer’s toil,
Of the peaceful land so dear.

Or instead, A lighthouse keeper,
Alone with the beautiful sea,
With a seagull’s song, Naught can go wrong,
When it’s just the light and me.

I’m a sojourner seeking solace,
Away from human strife,
What’er could have been, Tis the present I’m in,
In dealing with daily life.

So remember this goal,
As you seek your work,
Whether husband, child or wife,
Love what you do, To yourself be true blue,
And you’ll ne’er “work” a day in your life! 😉
